Approaches for curbing corruption in emerging economies

International trends suggest that corruption is prevalent in every country (Enste & Heldman, 2017). For instance, Sohail, Arslan and Zaman (2014) contended increasingly having negative implications for governments organisations worldwide. Therefore, this study explores the approaches curbing emerging economies. An exploratory research design was conducted. The qualitative method adopted to investigate subject matter. Interviews were conducted among 12 participants selected municipalities located KwaZulu-Natal. Data quality determined through trustworthiness. data analysed using NVivo, version 12.0. Thematic analysis observe, organise, describe, report patterns obtained from set. overall findings identified key KwaZulu-Natal municipalities, including resource availability, anti-corruption agencies, community involvement participation, legal frameworks, non-political interference, accountability. provides adequate explanations of will help South African public detect different forms take appropriate measures mitigate them. accountability, transparency, good governance sector
